The Story of the Chevrolet Bowtie- The Wifes Story

Recognized the world over, the Chevrolet's bowtie symbol has been a recognized trademark of quality in motor transportation since 1913. While its origin is the site of mass speculation, the story that has held the most weight, begins in a Paris hotel room in 1908.

William C. Durant, Chevrolet's founder, visited Paris in 1908 as part of his well known world traveling exploits. On his travels he checked into a French hotel room for the night and saw a wallpaper design that seemed to march off into infinity. Noticing the potential of the wallpaper's design, Durant tore off a piece of it to show his friends back home with the idea it would make a  good nameplate for a car.

The rest is history as they say. That same Chevrolet bowtie is still in use to this day, unchanged.

Winter Car Maintenance Tip: Battery Power

As the cold begins to creep in, you may notice your battery having some issues. Winter tends to put more stress on your battery, especially when you park your car outdoors. To avoid any battery mishaps, proactively check your battery and charging system before winter hits. Usually if you take your battery into a car-parts store or service center they will check its charge for cheap and some will even do it for free. If you find out your battery is headed down hill, you can replace it before any damage is done
